What is Tiny Post?

Tiny Post is the easiest way to visually share your thoughts on the world around you. You take a photo, type your text, and share it. Tiny Post is a way to caption the world. More than just a photo and more interesting than plain text, Tiny Post lets you capture a feeling, tell a story, share an opinion, tell a joke, or write a review about a place.

Where did you get this idea?

Tiny Post started as Tiny Review. It was inspired by a trip to Tokyo, where tiny shops hide in alleyways and sushi counters go incognito with no signs to lead you to them. How do you discover all the places around you? Since you can't read paragraphs while walking around dodging traffic, you had to take it in at a glance, so we came up with the format: a picture and three lines of text.

Right away we saw that 3 lines and a photo was a remarkable format to capture human emotion. Although the use case was intended to be local reviews, from the very beginning we saw people use it to tell stories, capture a feeling, and express themselves. And on the receiving end, we noticed that the audience was able to feel what the person who created the post was feeling. We were blown away by how good the format was at conveying human empathy.

In July 2012, Tiny Review relaunched as Tiny Post to align the product to the way our community was using it.

What devices are you compatible with?

Currently, we are compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. We require iOS 4.3 or later.

What services do you work with?

We allow you to share with Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. More services are coming soon.

How can I change the font size when creating a new tiny post?

You can pinch the text with 2 fingers to shrink or grow the text. Use 1 finger to position it.

How do I post privately?

Tap the lock icon on the bottom right corner of the Tag + Share screen. It will say "Keep to Myself" and your post will only be viewable by you.

How do I delete a post?

Tap the arrow on the bottom right corner of the post you want to delete. It will bring up a menu with an option to delete the post.

How do I change my profile picture or name displayed?

Profile settings are available in the Left Side menu. Tap the icon with the 3 lines on the top left, choose Settings from the bottom of the menu, then tap Update Profile. You'll be able to change your display name and update your profile picture.

Why do you need my location?

We don't. Please update the app to the newest version and it will not ask you anymore. That was a small bug that we fixed.

How do I find friends and other people to follow?

Press the button on the top right of the app to get to the menu on the right side. You'll be able to search for users and add friends from there.

How do I flag abusive, or otherwise offensive content?

Tap the action icon at the bottom right of every Tiny Post. A sheet with options will appear. Tap the red “Flag for Abuse” button.

How can I block followers? Flag Abusive Users?

Email us if you encounter abuse, we can block people for you.

If I have a technical problem, feedback, or feature request who can I contact?

Email us. We read every email we get and respond quickly.

Why do you need my location?

We ask for your location if you want to tag a place. We also ask for location permission when you upload a photo from your iPhone's gallery, since those photos already contain location data.
